How did everything start?
The origins of our company go back to 1973. At that time, Mechanical Equipment Factory (Zakład Urządzeń Mechanicznych) – ZUM was established on the initiative of Wacław Gruchot, initially specialising in the manufacture of automotive parts and transport services. Our company has developed with the development of the market and the changing needs of consumers. Shifting focus to more technologically advanced products, ZUM started manufacturing parts for combine harvesters and machine tools.
In 1990, the factory’s offer was extended to the manufacture of rolling bearings accessories, i.e.: conical adapter sleeves type H and withdrawal sleeves type AH, bearing nuts type KM, HM, toothed washers MB and other bearing accessories. Since then ZUM started its development in this direction – conventional machine tools were replaced with CNC machines, a number of technical improvements were introduced, unique cutting tools and measuring tools were designed and manufactured. The intensive development of staff and machinery has strengthened the market position of our company. Today ZUM is owned by its founder’s family, continuing the tradition of manufacturing components for the bearing industry.
